Job description

As an Software Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on software development experience while contributing to real-world projects on one of Lightcast's API development teams. Working alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional partners, you will support the design, development, testing, and documentation of software solutions while building your technical skills and solving meaningful engineering challenges.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Support engineering projects through research, design, development, testing, and documentation

  • Collaborate with engineers, technical teams, and project managers to achieve project goals

  • Participate in the design, prototyping, and scoping of engineering solutions

  • Prepare technical documentation related to engineering projects and processes

  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues and develop solutions with guidance from experienced engineers

  • Participate in training and development opportunities to expand technical knowledge and engineering skills

Education and Experience:
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related field preferred

  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, JavaScript, Rust, or C++

  • Understanding of basic software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms

  • Familiarity with database concepts, including SQL, NoSQL, and relational databases

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team

  • Eager to learn, adaptable, and able to quickly develop new technical skills
