MPI is seeking motivated individual to join our team this summer at an Accounting / Purchasing intern.

Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • ·Current enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor program for accounting or finance with strong academic performance
  • Candidates should possess basic knowledge of accounting principles
  • ·Strong attention to detail
  • ·Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities
  • ·Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • ·Strong 10-key data entry skills
  • Experience with accounting software preferred

Position summary: The Accounting Intern is responsible for supporting the company's accounting and financial operations by assisting with daily accounting tasks, data entry, and general administrative support. This role provides hands-on experience in accounting processes.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

General accounting support

  • Assist with data entry of financial transactions into accounting system
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
  • Help maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation

Reconciliation & reporting

  • Assist with account reconciliations and identify discrepancies
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare basic reports and spreadsheets for review by accounting staff

Administrative & clerical duties

  • Organize and file financial documents, both electronically and physically
  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the accounting team

Collaboration & learning

  • Work with team members across departments to gather necessary information
  • Participate in training and gain exposure to accounting systems and processes
  • Ask questions and proactively seek opportunities to learn and contribute

Other responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner
  • Complete additional tasks and projects assigned
