Job Summary:
Independent Software is a company focused on collaboration, integrity, and innovation. As a Software Engineer Level 2, you will support the development and maintenance of monitoring and automation solutions within Linux-based enterprise environments, collaborating with engineering and infrastructure teams.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Support Zabbix development and integration efforts within enterprise environments
โ€ข Develop and maintain scripts and automation using Python, Java, C/C++, and related scripting languages
โ€ข Support software development and troubleshooting activities within Linux environments
โ€ข Collaborate with engineers and infrastructure teams to support operational requirements
โ€ข Assist with system monitoring, automation, and deployment support activities
โ€ข Participate in troubleshooting and resolving software and system-related issues
โ€ข Support documentation and maintenance of development and operational procedures
โ€ข Contribute to team-based development and integration efforts
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Experience with Zabbix development
โ€ข Experience with scripting and software development using Python, Java, C/C++, or related languages
โ€ข Experience working within Linux environments
โ€ข Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
โ€ข Ability to work collaboratively within small engineering teams
โ€ข Strong written and verbal communication skills
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree and fourteen (14) years of relevant experience; OR No degree and eighteen (18) years of relevant experience
โ€ข Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role
Preferred:
โ€ข DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification is highly recommended but not required on day one
