Senior Software Engineer, Custom Engineering

The Custom Engineering Department is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support custom software I/O development, Linux kernel development, hardware/software integration, system testing, and customer-specific engineering projects. This role supports complex design assignments, system-level troubleshooting, manufacturing support, and technical support for internal teams, customers, and partners.

Work Authorization Required: Must be a US citizen. Unable to hire anyone on a visa or green card.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, integrate, and support custom Linux kernel, device driver, and I/O software solutions.
  • Design and support hardware/software interfaces for custom analog, digital, and communication I/O devices.
  • Troubleshoot complex system-level hardware and software integration issues.
  • Support Manufacturing with installation, configuration, testing, and validation of custom I/O products.
  • Translate customer and product requirements into practical engineering solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineering staff.
Essential Skills and Requirements
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++.
  • Experience with Linux kernel development, device drivers, and low-level system software.
  • Knowledge of analog I/O, digital I/O, communication protocols, and hardware/software interfaces.
  • Experience integrating and troubleshooting custom hardware and software at the system level.
  • Ability to work independently on complex assignments requiring sound technical judgment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline required.
  • Over 5 years of engineering experience required.
Compensation

The pay range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 annually plus 10% bonus. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.
