Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The software engineer designs and maintains programs and systems. They assist project management in developing software-specific system requirements. Software engineers will work with Quality Assurance to develop testing plans and with hardware engineers to validate and document interfaces for new hardware components.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, modify, refactor, and develop software to high standards.

Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.

Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.

Perform unit testing on developed software.

Participate in code reviews.

Design, modify, develop, and implement software build and installation scripts.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

SWE Level I: <3 years of experience.

SWE Level II: 3+ years of experience.

Ability to understand underlying business and support requirements to design solutions.

Aviation, automotive, or embedded software development experience a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communications.

Process driven and detail oriented.

Proven analytical and technical aptitude.

Self-directed problem solver.

Technical proficiency with C/C++, Kotlin/Java, C#, or Python programing languages.

Experience in cross team collaboration with quality assurance, developers, program managers and engineers.
