The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery of scoped features and software components through collaborative teams, ensuring alignment with platform and business objectives. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality, scalable software solutions using modern programming languages and AI/ML integrations. The position requires strong technical judgment, continuous improvement mindset, and effective collaboration across functions to translate complex requirements into reliable, maintainable systems. The engineer will also support DevOps practices, code reviews, and mentorship to drive engineering excellence and deliver impactful results aligned with Walmart’s standards.
About the team:
The IPT team develops and supports platforms for GNFR sourcing, contracting, and procurement using Agile methodology. The team delivers scalable, high-quality software solutions aligned with business and technical needs. Members collaborate to analyze requirements, design software, and implement efficient, secure code while maintaining performance standards. Emphasizing continuous improvement, the team applies project management and software architecture expertise to drive innovation. By fostering strong stakeholder partnerships and adhering to best practices, the IPT team plays a key role in Walmart’s operational excellence and commitment to reliable technology platforms.
What you'll do:
  • Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
  • Integrate AI and ML components using internal and external APIs to enhance software capabilities.
  • Assist in converting high-level designs into detailed, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with platform objectives.
  • Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management to ensure software quality and performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and success metrics.
  • Monitor application performance and support continuous improvement.
