Position Summary
We are seeking a Summer Intern - Development to support our Project Development team focused on utility-scale energy infrastructure, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role provides hands-on exposure to project development across greenfield and brownfield sites, with a focus on NYC.
This role offers the opportunity to learn about the exciting world of renewable energy development and the ability to make a true impact on real projects.
Key Responsibilities
Development Fundamentals
  • Gain exposure to the full project lifecycle ("Development 101"), including site origination, permitting, interconnection, and commercialization.

Greenfield & Brownfield Development
  • Support analysis and execution of both site types, including risk, cost, and timeline considerations.
  • Help build an internal, reusable playbook outlining development processes, risks, and tax equity considerations.

Project Support
  • Contribute to live projects in NYC and abroad, including interconnection, site control, offtake, and permitting strategy. Projects may include Arthur Kill II, Gowanus, and Astoria 1 & 2 BESS.

M&A Diligence
  • Support evaluation of acquisition opportunities through research, data organization, and risk analysis.

Candidate Profile
Required Experience
  • Undergraduate or graduate student in Engineering, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Finance, or related field
  • Strong interest in energy, infrastructure, or project development
  • Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • This role is located in Brooklyn, NY, and will require an in-office presence.
