The Opportunity:
AI-enabled defense capabilities require software developers who can design, test, and refine intelligent systems from prototype through mission deployment. As an Applied AI Software Development Intern, you'll help build tools, applications, and pipelines that integrate machine learning into real world operational workflows and advanced analytical systems.

This role is more than just coding, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to explore emerging AI technologies, evaluate integration approaches, and develop software components that enhance mission-relevant decision-making. You'll work in Agile environments where you can rapidly iterate, test new features, incorporate user feedback, and gain exposure to cloud environments, DevSecOps toolchains, and secure development best practices. You Have:

  • Experience with programming languages or frameworks, including Python, Java, C++, Go, or JavaScript
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, version control, and collaborative development workflows
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Scheduled to obtain a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field by Spring or Summer 2028

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with AI/ML model development or integration
  • Experience with cloud platforms, containerization, or DevSecOps tooling

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
