POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to design, develop, and deliver enterprise healthcare technology solutions that support critical business operations and improve outcomes for members and providers. This opportunity offers a blend of hands-on development and technical leadership, enabling the Senior Software Development Engineer to drive solution design, influence engineering best practices, and contribute to modernization initiatives across healthcare platforms.

The Senior Software Development Engineer will leverage expertise in C#, .NET technologies, SQL Server, and Microsoft SSIS to build scalable web applications, data integration solutions, and backend services supporting claims processing, member and provider data, and EDI 837 transactions. Working closely with product owners, business analysts, QA engineers, and fellow developers, the Senior Software Development Engineer will play a key role in delivering secure, high-performing, and reliable solutions within an Agile environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop, and support enterprise healthcare applications, APIs, and data integration solutions using C#, .NET technologies, SQL Server, and Microsoft SSIS.

  • Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, development standards, and engineering best practices to ensure high-quality software delivery.

  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and reliable technical solutions.

  • Drive continuous improvement through technical assessments, process optimization, innovation initiatives, and adoption of modern development practices.

  • Contribute to Agile delivery, technical documentation, solution architecture, project planning, and compliance with quality and security standards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of software development expertise building enterprise applications using C#, .NET Framework 4.8, .NET Core Web API, Entity Framework, LINQ, ASP.NET Core MVC, Razor Pages, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, and SQL Server.

  • 5+ years supporting healthcare technology solutions with strong knowledge of claims processing, member and provider data management, EDI 837 transactions, and related healthcare workflows.

  • 4+ years delivering data integration and database solutions utilizing SQL Server queries, stored procedures, performance optimization, Microsoft SSIS, and ETL processes.

  • 3+ years collaborating with product owners, business analysts, QA teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver complex solutions in Agile environments.

  • 2+ years providing technical mentorship and leadership, promoting coding standards, process improvements, innovation, and the growth of junior developers while demonstrating strong problem-solving and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Professional certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), or equivalent industry-recognized credentials.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, cloud technologies, application modernization, and automation-driven development approaches.

  • Knowledge of healthcare payer systems, enterprise data integration patterns, and scalable application architecture.

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, technical innovation, and adoption of emerging technologies and engineering best practices.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience).

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
