Job description

Role Overview:
The Product Testing Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and readiness of product features by proactively identifying edge cases, negative scenarios, and requirement gaps. This position involves strengthening acceptance criteria, defining testable scenarios, and supporting validation activities throughout the entire delivery and go-live lifecycle. The engineer will partner closely with Engineering and QA teams, triage defects, and act as a consultant to Product Owners to enhance requirement quality.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review features and user stories to identify edge cases, negative scenarios, and requirement gaps before development.
  • Strengthen acceptance criteria and readiness quality, ensuring business scenarios and logic are explicit and testable.
  • Partner with Engineering and QA to define behavior-driven scenarios (BDDs) and test cases, including combination coverage.
  • Support validation and readiness activities through delivery and go-live, confirming scenario coverage and environment readiness.
  • Triage defects as they arise, reproducing and characterizing issues and providing clear risk framing to support timely decisions.
  • Act as a consultant to Product Owners on feature and user-story authoring, improving requirement quality across the team.
  • Document edge cases, test scenarios, and business logic into reusable artifacts that strengthen team knowledge over time.

Required Skills:
  • 5+ years in test engineering, quality engineering, SDET, or a hybrid product/technical role delivering complex, highly integrated technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify edge cases, negative scenarios, and requirement gaps early in the delivery lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience authoring BDDs, acceptance criteria, and test cases in partnership with engineering teams.
  • Strong grounding in Agile product delivery, including backlog refinement and Definition of Ready / Definition of Done practices.
  • Experience in financial services, payments, authorization, or network/transaction processing preferred.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority and frame risk clearly for decision-makers.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and balancing proactive gap-hunting with reactive triage support.

Qualifications:
  • 6-7 years of experience in a relevant field.
