About the Opportunity:

As a Software Developer Intern, you will be assigned to a development team of approximately 4-15 developers and engineers. You'll receive training and mentorship while working on meaningful programming assignments that contribute to real applications and business operations.
This internship is designed to provide challenging, practical experience in a collaborative development environment. You'll have the opportunity to strengthen your technical skills, learn how software supports complex business and manufacturing operations, and gain experience that can help prepare you for a future career in software development.
Development Teams:
Depending on business needs, interests, and experience, interns may have the opportunity to work with teams supporting areas such as:
Logistics:
Develop technology solutions that help process customer orders, optimize transportation plans, improve freight efficiency, and support customer delivery expectations. Solutions may also support warehouse operations, automated material handling, barcode tracking, inventory movement, and high-volume mailing processes.
Shared Services:
Support and develop software solutions for corporate functions such as Accounting, Human Resources, Data & Analytics, and Supply Chain Management.
Operations:
Work on software that supports commercial print and manufacturing operations, including job planning and imaging, press and finishing operations, production scheduling, and raw material management.
Sales, Marketing & Transactional Operations:
Develop, support, and enhance applications used across business areas such as Direct Mail, Web Solutions, Commercial and Specialty Print, Sales, and Estimating.
Client-Facing Business Solutions:
Develop, support, and customize software solutions used directly by clients across industries and market segments, including retail, publishing, and other customer-facing applications.
What You'll Do:
  • Design, code, test, debug, and enhance software applications in an object-oriented development environment (VB.NET, C, C#, C++, VB 6.0, ASP, and T-SQL) and MS SQL Server 2005/2008
  • Work on meaningful development assignments that support manufacturing, administrative, logistics, or client-facing business operations.
  • Collaborate with developers, engineers, analysts, and business partners to understand requirements and develop effective solutions.
  • Participate in unit testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and application support.
  • Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of custom-developed applications.
  • Learn and apply software development standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Participate as an active member of an agile, collaborative development team.
  • Build an understanding of how technology is used to solve complex business and operational challenges.

What You'll Bring:
Education:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Completion of at least two semesters of object-oriented programming coursework.

Qualifications:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Passion for software development and learning new technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate and contribute effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to take on challenging assignments.
  • Ability to work onsite at designated Wisconsin locations as required.
  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
