Job description

SGM is seeking a Civil Engineer III in our Gunnison, Grand Junction, or Durango, CO office. Our ideal candidate will have a strong desire to live, work, and play in Western Colorado and want to be part of a high-performing team that will help forward SGM’s mission to make its clients successful by delivering innovative, practical solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field
  • PE Certification or ability to obtain in the first year of employment
  • Minimum 5-10 years of engineering work experience
  • Organized, fast learner, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to execute well-defined technical and engineering tasks
  • Strong familiarity and working knowledge in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D design software with interest to expand CAD knowledge base. Ability to use Civil 3D as a design tool.
  • Experience in general civil engineering and municipal engineering work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent client service skills
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Able to conduct site visits in a mountain environment

  • Current Colorado PE license in civil engineering or related field
  • Experience in Geotechnical Engineering
