Position Overview

The Assistant Superintendent supports field leadership and day-to-day construction operations on ground-up multifamily, affordable housing, mixed-use, and residential developments from mobilization through project completion. This role works closely with the Superintendent and Project Management team to coordinate subcontractors, maintain schedules, support quality control efforts, and ensure projects are executed safely and efficiently.

Projects may include multifamily podium, wrap, wood-frame, affordable housing, renovation, and urban infill developments, requiring strong coordination in active and schedule-driven construction environments. This position is ideal for someone looking to continue growing into a future Superintendent role while gaining broader project exposure. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Superintendent with managing daily field operations on multifamily construction projects.
  • Support coordination of subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain schedule and productivity goals.
  • Assist with look-ahead schedules, trade sequencing, and jobsite logistics planning.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate schedule impacts or field concerns to project leadership.
  • Help coordinate inspections, punch lists, quality control efforts, and project closeout activities.
  • Review drawings and specifications to support field execution and identify coordination issues before impacting production.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe jobsite and enforcing OSHA and project safety requirements.

  • Maintain daily reports, site documentation, progress photos, and field logs.
  • Support turnover activities and ensure completed work aligns with project quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers and ownership teams to maintain project objectives. Multifamily and affordable housing delivery are core project types within the referenced portfolio.

Qualifications
  • 3–7+ years of experience in construction, preferably as an Assistant Superintendent, Field Engineer, Lead Foreman, or similar field leadership role.
  • Strong experience supporting ground-up multifamily construction projects required.
  • Experience with podium, wrap, wood-frame, affordable housing, or mixed-use developments preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or similar tools preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting urban infill, occupied renovation, or affordable housing projects.
  • Exposure to preconstruction coordination, constructability reviews, and schedule planning.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is a plus.
