Job description

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Hodgkins, IL.     

You will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools

MONDAY-FRIDAY | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM SHIFT

Seeking anexperienced technicianwho requiresminimal guidancefor diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Preferred qualifications include:

  • OEM experience
  • Chassis, HVAC, and powertrain training
  • Eaton and Allison Transmission Experience Preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years diagnostic experience

-This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.

-A current valid license is required for this role
-Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
-This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations

-A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
-Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs
  • Performs engine overhauls unassisted
  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
  • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software

Compensation and Benefits: Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications:
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
