Join the Quest Defense Systems and Solutions team developing and verifying safety-critical embedded software for advanced aerospace engine control systems. We're looking for a Lead Software Verification Engineer with experience in Verification & Validation (V&V), DO-178C, embedded software, RTOS, and systems integration to help deliver reliable, high-quality software for mission-critical applications.
In this role, you'll lead software verification activities, support hardware/software integration, and work closely with systems, software, and test engineering teams to ensure software meets customer, regulatory, and certification requirements.
This position is located in Endicott, NY and requires full-time onsite support during the initial onboarding period (approximately 1-2 months), with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule afterward. U.S. Citizenship is required.
What You'll Do
  • Lead software Verification & Validation (V&V) activities for embedded aerospace software.
  • Perform requirements-based testing, software integration testing, and hardware/software integration testing.
  • Verify high-level and low-level software requirements (HLR/LLR) in accordance with DO-178C.
  • Review software requirements, designs, test procedures, and verification results for completeness and compliance.
  • Support software certification activities and ensure compliance with aerospace software standards.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and integration teams throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Document test results, identify issues, and communicate technical findings to engineering teams and customers.
  • Support onboarding, process improvements, and technical guidance for future verification engineers.
  • Participate in technical reviews and help improve software quality, verification processes, and engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience developing or verifying embedded software in aerospace, defense, or another safety-critical industry.
  • Experience with DO-178C software development or verification.
  • Experience with Verification & Validation (V&V), software integration testing, and hardware/software integration.
  • Experience developing or testing software running on a Real-Time Operating System (RTOS).
  • Experience programming in C and Python.
  • Experience with multicore or asymmetric multiprocessing architectures.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
