We will provide service members with valuable civilian work experience through industry specific training, certifications and on the job experience during their DoD SkillBridge internship to help them ready themselves for their next mission.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR DOD SKILLBRIDGE JOB OPPORTUNITES YOU MUST BE AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE U.S. MILITARY WITH 180 DAYS OF SERVICE OR FEWER REMAINING PRIOR TO YOUR DATE OF SEPARATION AND HAVE AT LEAST 180 CONTINUOUS DAYS OF ACTIVE SERVICE.

Job Description:

Will be involved in developing, maintaining, integrating, and managing ISR systems, networks, and system storage devices.  Will be a part of a talented team of engineers who collectively demonstrate excellent technical competence, reliability in delivering mission-critical infrastructure, and who continually ensure the highest levels of accessibility, optimization, and security.  This position combines an understanding of both software engineering and systems engineering.  Will work with various departments to manage and develop ISR systems within L3Harris.  Will work primarily with existing infrastructure that may involve world-wide travel for regular updates at all field locations.  Requires the ability to speak technically to coworkers in development positions as well as at a higher level to both management and customer representatives.  Requires the candidate to balance various aspects of a project, most of them complex issues such as re-architecting software design for existing issues and designing for the future. 

Essential Functions:

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship. An active Secret clearance or TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
  • Ability to identify and find solutions for defects and mitigate risk.
  • Able to multi-task on numerous and varied system projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to test and troubleshoot multiple operating systems. Windows, Linux and gain familiarity with Engineering tools such as Jira, DOORS, LTS, EEST, SCMS and eSentry.
  • Basic understanding of how software works in conjunction with hardware interdependencies.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively with developers to explain the requirement when needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities are a must.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to multi-task on numerous and varying system projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to test, troubleshoot, and configure multiple operating systems. Windows, Linux and familiarity with NETAPP required.
  • Thorough understanding of how software works in conjunction with hardware interdependencies.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities are a must. Travel to meet with vendors for evaluation items with the customer requires top tier interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Clear understanding of software troubleshooting process.
  • Ability to solve problems using logical engineering thought processes.
  • Understanding of RC135 platform, CI, MSI, and flight line stages.
  • Enterprise LAN knowledge.
