Job description

C# Software Developer (Desktop Applications)

No flexibility on rate range listed ($85k and under) and no corp-to-corp offerings

Overview

We’re partnering with a well-established, product-driven software company to hire a C# Software Developer to help evolve a proprietary ERP platform used by customers across industrial and healthcare industries.

This is a backend-heavy, full-stack engineering role where you’ll work on a mission-critical system, contributing to both new feature development and modernization initiatives. If you enjoy solving complex problems and working on systems that have real business impact, this is a strong opportunity to grow your career.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, build, and maintain enterprise-level applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability
  • Develop new features and enhancements within a core ERP platform
  • Contribute to modernization efforts, refactoring legacy components into modern .NET frameworks
  • Work across the full SDLC: requirements → development → testing → deployment
  • Collaborate with product owners and engineering teams to deliver business-driven solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code following best practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges (performance, concurrency, system behavior)
  • Support bug fixes, system optimization, and ongoing improvements
  • Assist with occasional escalated production issues and participate in an on-call rotation

Tech Stack
  • Languages/Frameworks: C#, .NET
  • Database: SQL Server
  • UI: WPF (desktop-based applications)
  • Architecture: N-tier, distributed/client-server systems
  • ORM: Entity Framework (or similar)
  • Concepts: Multi-threading, concurrency, performance optimization
  • Cloud: Azure

Note: This is not a front-end/JavaScript-heavy role. It is primarily backend-focused.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience (ideal range: 3–5 years)
  • Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET (object-oriented programming)
  • Solid understanding of SQL Server and relational database design
  • Experience building or supporting desktop applications (WPF preferred)
  • Familiarity with APIs, services, and distributed systems
  • Understanding of data structures and system performance considerations
  • Exposure to multi-threading and concurrency concepts
  • Familiarity with design patterns such as MVVM or MVC
  • Comfortable working across both legacy systems and modern environments

Nice to Have
  • Experience with application modernization or system rewrites
  • Exposure to ERP or enterprise business systems
  • Experience working with Azure or cloud-based deployments
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot)

What We’re Looking For
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a structured, logical approach
  • Ability to work on complex, business-critical systems
  • Collaborative team player who contributes ideas, not just execution
  • Interest in long-term growth within a stable product environment
  • Consistent work history and ownership mindset

About the Product

You’ll be working on a comprehensive ERP platform that supports:

  • Inventory and asset management
  • Billing, finance, and compliance workflows
  • Order processing and logistics
  • Customer and operational data management

This platform is core to customers’ day-to-day operations, making reliability, scalability, and performance essential.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  • Join a stable, product-based company with a long-standing market presence
  • Work on a core platform that directly impacts customers’ businesses
  • Gain exposure to ERP systems and complex, domain-driven design
  • Be part of a modernization journey transitioning legacy systems to current .NET technologies
  • Clear career path with growth opportunities.
  • Collaborative, low-turnover engineering team with strong mentorship support

Additional Details
  • Remote opportunity (must reside in approved U.S. states)
  • Team operates on Mountain Time hours (daily stand-up required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
