Job description

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Optimization Developer.

This role is located at our Waukesha, WI facility and offers a hybrid work model.

Salary range: $86,000 - $126,000 per year (general guideline).

Responsibilities
  • Learn and understand complex core/coil construction requirements, constraints, and manufacturing methods and use that knowledge to develop new rules and designs.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze data to identify and drive improvements through cost reduction, improved efficiency, and zero defects.
  • Manage projects/activities in support of Cost Out and Continuous Improvement goals.
  • Accurately generate data for use in manufacturing to meet product lead‑time requirements (On Time Design, OTD).
  • Implement innovative programming solutions to improve optimization efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage programs and processes to integrate into the transformer design process.
  • Review and interpret design specifications to establish customer requirements.
  • Automate design processes for custom products with standard requirements to meet customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Understand the various parts, components, and manufacturing processes that are needed to design customized transformer products.
  • Continuously expand your knowledge of the products and business processes.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree with technical design or support experience with electromechanical products.
  • Three (3) years of programming experience (C, C++, Fortran).
  • Three (3) years of experience with electromechanical systems or products.
  • Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that live outside a 50-mile radius of Waukesha, WI.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience on any CAD tool like Inventor, AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of standard industry drafting/modeling practices.
  • Experience with custom engineering design and processes.
  • Experience in creating, loading, and/or storing design data within an ERP system, preferably SAP.
  • Knowledge of power systems, distribution/power transformer products/applications, and/or industrial automation/controls.
  • Ability to excel as a team player by collaborating with engineering peers and cross‑functional personnel to ensure custom designs meet customer expectations.
