Job description


Job Title: Developer

Department: IT

Reports To: Director, IT

FLSA Classification: Exempt

ROLE SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The Developer is responsible for using knowledge of programming languages to design software programs. Working with clients, including internal, to determine their software needs, coding and testing software to ensure functionality and updating software programs to refine components like cybersecurity measures and data storage capacities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

  • Design, develop, and implement software solutions based on user requirements and specifications.
  • Write clean, scalable, and efficient code using programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or Java Script.
  • Design algorithms and flowcharts to create new software programs and systems.
  • Responsible for ensuring work is performed in compliance with ISO 27001 and SOC 2 requirements, as applicable.
  • Produce efficient code based on requirements.
  • Test and deploy programs and applications.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, maintain and improve existing software applications. Conduct testing to identify and fix bugs, ensuring the software is functional and meets quality standards.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to gather requirements and define project scope. Compile and assess user feedback to improve software performance.
  • Create, maintain technical documentation for software applications, including user manuals and system architecture descriptions.
  • Observe user feedback to recommend improvements to existing software products. Update and improve existing software applications, addressing user feedback and performance issues.
  • Develop technical documentation to guide future software development projects.
  • Other duties as required or requested.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in coding and software development.
  • Proficiency in coding languages including Python, Java and C++ and frameworks or systems such as AngularJS and Git.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow or related ticket management system.
  • Excellent knowledge of software development life cycle.
  • Knowledge of Object-Relational Mapping frameworks.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, React, node.js) and familiarity with frameworks (e.g., AngularJS, .NET).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), Agile methodologies, and software development life cycle(SDLC) processes.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • The ability to execute work deliverables independently as well as collaboration with team members as needed.
  • Excellent communication and language skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce results within project timelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and establish a positive rapport, internally and externally.
