Description:

This position provides hands-on exposure to the end-to-end Finished Vehicle Logistics process, supporting the movement of complete vehicles from production through delivery and distribution. The intern will gain experience across key operational areas including staging, haul-away, load planning, audits, and special vehicle handling.

In addition to core operations, the role includes leading and supporting digitization initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, visibility, and process standardization. This includes the development of automated dashboards, process visualization tools, and exploration of emerging technologies such as app development, web-based tools, and virtual reality applications to enhance yard operations and logistics workflows.

The intern will work closely with the Finished Vehicle Logistics team to identify opportunities for process improvement, support daily operations, and contribute to data-driven decision-making.

The qualified intern should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

  • Support and develop a strong understanding of all inbound and outbound Finished Vehicle Logistics processes
  • Collaborate with the Finished Vehicle Logistics team to ensure alignment with quality standards, audit requirements, and operational best practices
  • Assist in daily logistics activities including delivery coordination, staging, haul-away execution, and load planning
  • Support damage handling processes and ensure effective communication with internal teams and external partners
  • Build and maintain working relationships with external vendors and logistics providers
  • Create, enhance, and maintain daily reporting tools to improve operational visibility and performance tracking
  • Analyze current processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and standardization
  • Develop and implement automated solutions, including dashboards and reporting tools, to streamline operations
  • Support the creation and improvement of process visualization tools for yard operations and logistics workflows
  • Contribute to digitization initiatives, including app development, web-based tools, and other emerging technologies
  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration and serve as a flexible resource to support team needs as required
  • Apply VPS (Value Added Production System) principles, including Standard Work and structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Support the development and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with department objectives
  • Adhere to 5S, safety standards, and operational guidelines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • AA/AS degree OR the equivalent of 1 years of business experience. BA/BS degree (preferred).
  • 1+ years communication skills both verbal and written.
  • 1+ years problem solving, organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • 1+ years computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint, Power Automate, Apex Dashboards, Power BI
  • Software Programming/Coding (Python, C++, etc.)
  • 1+ years of related business experience.
  • 6 months+ project/team leadership experience.
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
  • Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE January 11th - May 14th, 2027.
