Job description

Technology Internship
Location: REMOTE
OneMain Financial is seeking exceptional undergraduate students to join our Technology Internship. In this 10-week paid, remote, internship program you will dive into the deep end of consumer finance technology as you work with our technologists in the areas of Cybersecurity, Data and Software Engineering, Architecture, Technology Operations and Cloud Infrastructure.
During the internship program, you will benefit from both formal and informal guidance and training. Our Summer program offers insights into technical skills and essential professional behaviors, standards, and mindsets necessary for a successful career. The program incorporates team-based, hands-on exercises and activities. In addition to formal training sessions, you will collaborate with skilled professionals, providing opportunities to acquire practical real-world experience. Finally, you will have direct exposure to our senior technology leaders who are eager to share their perspectives from their own career arcs, as well as their thoughts on where this industry is headed.
In the Role
  • Apprentice as a Cyber Engineer, Data Engineer, Network Engineer, Infrastructure/Platform Engineer, Technology Operations Analyst or Software Developer depending on your skillset and available opportunities.
  • Be part of a team that develops creative technical solutions to solve complex business problems
  • Actively contribute to our team's vibrant culture through sharing knowledge, helping peers, and collaborating on projects
  • Participate in team meetings, providing insights into ongoing issues and contributing to the overall improvement.

Requirements
  • Current undergraduate student actively enrolled in Cybersecurity, Software Engineering or Computer Science degree program discipline or related field (examples: Engineering, Statistics, Biostatistics, Physics, Economics) with an expected graduation date between Winter 2025 to Summer 2026.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics and concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Innovative and capable of developing creative solutions to complex, data-driven problems.
  • Proven experience (in an academic, athletic, volunteer, or employment context) working with collaboratively on a team

Target base salary is $25.00, which is based on various factors including skills and work experience.
