Job description

WHO WE ARE
Frogslayer is the AI & Automation integrator for the middle market. We're a custom software and AI partner that rescues stalled projects, modernizes legacy systems, and designs, builds, and scales the software and AI solutions our clients' businesses depend on. Through our AI Office model, we embed senior strategists and engineers directly inside our clients' businesses - every month - to help them figure out what to build, what to buy, what to ignore, and then actually ship it. We work inside their environment, not around it.
Roughly 80% of AI projects never reach production. We exist to put our clients on the right side of that number. Our projects succeed at roughly 3X the industry average, and that comes from putting senior people in front of clients, not from cutting corners.
Frogslayer aims to be a top-tier "talent destination" for exceptional individuals who want to grow their careers long-term. Our people are committed, hard-working, and genuinely care about the well-being of each other and Frogslayer. We have been continually recognized for the past 7 years by Inc. and Texas Monthly as one of the "best places to work" in Texas and the US.
Frogslayer is an equal-opportunity employer. We welcome and encourage diversity in the workplace. We offer a generous benefits package, including company contributions to medical benefits for full-time employees and their families. In addition, we offer a flexible work environment, company-sponsored activities, and a commitment to providing each employee with job satisfaction and growth opportunities based on each person's needs and goals.
WHO YOU ARE
You will be working as a junior developer, side-by-side with a high-performance team of software engineers. You'll have real responsibilities, autonomy over your work, flexibility over your schedule, and the opportunity to deliver software that people use and rely on every day. We don't care so much about your specific technical background. We're much more interested in knowing that you can learn quickly, apply new knowledge to solve problems, are disciplined in your work, and have an aptitude for becoming proficient in a variety of languages and tools.
This is a tremendous opportunity for professional growth. There will be constant change, but one thing is certain - you will learn more and grow faster at Frogslayer than you will anywhere else.
THE ROLE
In this critical role, your clients will rely on you to solve their most complex technology challenges and deliver measurable business results. If you're looking for real responsibilities, autonomy over your work, flexibility over your schedule, and the opportunity to deliver software that people use and rely on every day, then this is the job for you.
At Frogslayer, you'll be working on a variety of projects that include web, desktop, mobile, and embedded systems. It's not uncommon for someone to move from developing a new web application in Python over to a system written in C# or PHP. We're technology agnostic and are more concerned about creating high-impact business outcomes for our clients. For each project, we select the best tools for the job. Common technologies, tools, and libraries we use include Python, Django, C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Jenkins CI, GitLab, Docker, Ansible, MVC, SPA, AWS, Azure, Web API, HTTP, REST, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL.
YOU'RE A GOOD FIT IF:
  • Currently enrolled pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Willing to work a minimum of 20 hours a week; 75% of those hours being in office
  • Completed coursework in core computer science fundamentals (e.g., data structures, algorithms, or objective-oriented programming)
  • Hands-on coding experience beyond coursework - personal projects, class projects, hackathons, or open-source contributions
  • Comfortable communicating directly with others to gather requirements, explain technical concepts, or give status updates (e.g., through group projects, tutoring/TA work, an internship, or a customer-facing role)
  • You find business problems just as interesting as technical problems

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop custom software
  • Develop new features
  • Debug and resolve issues
  • Test your work
  • Research solutions to technical problems
  • Communicate with clients and team leads regarding the progress of key tasks or issues

PERKS AND BENEFITS:
  • Competitive salary at the national level
  • Discretionary bonus plan for eligible employees
  • Flexible discretionary time off
  • Dedicated budget for learning & development to supplement career growth
  • Top-tier tools, systems, and equipment
  • Paid training and conference days
  • Mentorship from experienced developers
  • Company-sponsored events
  • Office located on a Texas A&M Bus Route
