Job description

The Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate for technology, self-motivated and creative Software Development Engineering Intern to join our team. The intern will be working on our next-gen pharmacy fulfillment solutions. The Software Development Engineering Intern will participate in the entire software development lifecycle - analyze the business requirements, design, test, and develop software solutions for Azure cloud. The intern will also learn how to use AI-assisted development tools throughout the software development lifecycle and develop AI agents that can improve software engineering workflows and productivity. He/she will be working closely with Sr. Engineers in cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.  As an engineering team member, he/she will learn how to employ industry best-practices in design, coding, and product delivery.  

 The iA Intern Program is a 10-week summer internship, running from, Tuesday June 1, 2027, through Friday, August 6, 2027. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Based on design documents and under Sr. Software Engineers guidance, implement components of software systems and deploy them on Azure cloud.
  • Use AI-assisted software development tools to support activities such as code generation, code review, debugging, unit-test creation, technical documentation, and prototyping.
  • Design and develop proof-of-concept AI agents that automate or assist with software engineering tasks.
  • Learn how to integrate AI capabilities and agents into software applications and engineering workflows.
  • Evaluate AI-generated code and recommendations for correctness, security, maintainability, and alignment with engineering standards.
  • Participate and contribute to team’s daily meetings.
  • Follow senior engineer(s) directions to learn and apply best industry practices in design and implementation.
  • Under supervision implement, troubleshoot, and deploy on cloud software components
  • Learn and apply best practices and patterns. 
  • Liaising with colleagues to implement technical designs.
  • Maintain the security of the company data and applications using security best practices.
  • Participate in creating strong technical documentation of proposed and implemented solutions. 

 Who you are:

  • Pursuing degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar fields 
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as C#, Java, C++, JavaScript/Typescript, Python.
  • Some classes on object-oriented design.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithm.
  • Interest in generative AI, large language models, AI agents, or AI-assisted software development.
  • Interested in learning how AI can be responsibly incorporated into software engineering while maintaining appropriate human review and engineering standards.

It would be great if you also have:

  • C#/.NET programming experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to Azure cloud (or any cloud) is a plus.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools or coding assistants.
  • Exposure to generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, large language models, or AI agents.
  • Experience building a simple AI application, agent, chatbot, or other AI-enabled project through coursework or personal projects.

Compensation:

The estimated hourly rate range for this position is $18.00 to $26.00 per hour, though a candidate's hourly rate shall be determined on a range of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications and experience.
