Job description

Primary Responsibilities

The Environmental Engineer supports environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across RoyOMartin operations. Under the mentorship of experienced environmental staff, this entry-level role provides hands-on experience in field monitoring, data analysis, regulatory documentation, permitting, and compliance while developing practical environmental engineering expertise. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Assists with environmental monitoring activities, including water, air, and soil sampling, field inspections, and environmental audits
  • Collects environmental data, maintains field records, and organizes, analyzes, and summarizes monitoring data
  • Maintains records related to environmental monitoring, audits, inspections, permits, and regulatory submissions
  • Supports permitting activities, including document preparation, data compilation, and tracking permit requirements and renewal deadlines
  • Develops practical knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations related to air quality, water quality, and solid waste, including NSR, PSD, Title V, LPDES, and TPDES requirements
  • Assists with environmental incident documentation, investigations, and corrective actions under the guidance of senior environmental staff
  • Drafts technical reports, summaries, and regulatory correspondence with guidance from experienced environmental professionals
  • Partners with site environmental coordinators and operations teams to support compliance activities and learn environmental best practices
  • Participates in environmental compliance training and awareness initiatives across company locations
  • Travels to manufacturing sites as needed to support field and compliance activities

Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or a related Engineering discipline. Recent graduates and early-career engineers are encouraged to apply
  • EIT/Engineering Intern license or eligibility in Louisiana or Texas preferred
  • Foundational understanding of environmental engineering principles, regulatory frameworks, and data analysis through academic coursework
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately collect, organize, and interpret technical information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
  • Ability and willingness to learn plant data management systems and specialized environmental software
  • Ability to identify issues, ask questions, and work toward practical solutions with guidance from experienced staff
  • Ability to travel and participate in field activities at multiple company locations
