As our next Process Engineering Intern, you will support the engineering team in analyzing, improving, and documenting manufacturing processes within an automotive production environment. This role offers hands-on experience in lean manufacturing, process optimization, and quality improvement initiatives. The intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Assist in evaluating and improving manufacturing processes for efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and process standardization.
  • Participate in time studies, workflow analysis, and layout optimization.
  • Help develop and update process documentation, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve process-related issues.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Present findings and recommendations to engineering and operations leadership.
  • Support safety initiatives and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What We're Looking For:
Education:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); CAD or simulation software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong desire to learn and contribute.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe shoes required.
  • Exposure to manufacturing noise, machinery, and industrial equipment.

Work Environment & Safety
