Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving multiple DoD customers in support of America's warfighters, is looking for a Linux Sustainment Engineer supporting the next generation Navy tactical communications systems. We are seeking a motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented engineer to assist our Navy customer in defining, developing, implementing, maintaining, supporting, tuning, and troubleshooting software and hardware infrastructure relating to Linux servers. These key positions are part of a dynamic team fulfilling technical needs of our military and will be responsible for developing software applications that support Navy tactical communications systems. We are seeking motivated, analytical, and detail-oriented computer professionals to join our growing company. If you have a strong Linux background, reinforced with software development and networking knowledge, leverage your passion for software and technology to start a new career with us.
Travel up to 10%
You Will:
  • Maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers
  • Administer Red Hat virtual machines (KVM) and containers (Docker/Podman)
  • Develop software applications in Python (Python preferred; Java or C# experience considered)
  • Automate maintenance tasks using shell scripting (Bash)
  • Maintain source code in software repositories (Git)
  • Assist in management of network devices, including configuration of layer 2 & 3 switches and routers
  • Assist subject matter experts with software engineering change requests (ECR) and software installation documentation
  • Research and resolve software trouble reports impacting application functionality.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Department of Defense (DoD) guidelines for IT system security, specifically STIG compliance

You Have:
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must currently possess and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Microsoft Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
  • Programming/scripting languages (Bash/Python/HTML/etc.)
  • Git, GitLab, GitLab Pipelines, Artifactory, Confluence and Jira
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hardware specifications found in desktops, laptops, tablets and servers
  • Strong documentation and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities
  • Self-Motivated, strong work ethic and commitment to quality
  • A passion for learning about, and working in the IT industry

We'd Be Impressed If You Had:
  • Experience with configuration management and automation platforms (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Experience with Ansible Automation Platform
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker/Podman, Kubernetes)

Education/Experience:
  • BS Degree in relevant technical field or combination of education and experience
  • CompTIA Security+
  • 8-10 years of Linux system administration experience
  • 5 years of software development experience using Python, Java or C#
  • Bash and shell script development experience
  • Technical documentation experience
  • Desired: networking and testing experience
  • 3 years� experience working with a wide range of IT products
