Job description

Overview

Responsible for the installations, maintenance, and repair of medium voltage electrical termination systems. Ensure the proper connection of medium voltage cables to various electrical equipment and systems.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
  • Work with MV switchgear, transformers, junction boxes, and related equipment to complete terminations and system integration
  • Test, troubleshoot, and commission MV electrical systems, ensuring all components function properly and safely
  • Comply with all safety norms and regulations of working
  • Appropriate use and handling of electrical testing and repair equipment
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to review plans, specifications and safety regulations
  • Completion of all tasks as assigned by the supervising manager
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, testing results, and any issues encountered during the installation or commissioning process
  • Mentor and train other team members on your crew
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools and equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and twelve months of experience as an MV Terminator
  • Or equivalent combination of training and experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company’s Zero Injury principles
  • Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify technical malfunctions in electrical units
  • Sound understanding of handling and using electrical repair tools and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Working Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
