Job description

Join Amazon Advertising's Omnichannel Grocery Advertising team and help shape the future of how shoppers discover products and connect with brands. You'll design and build intelligent advertising technologies that bridge digital and physical grocery shopping experiences across Amazon.com, Whole Foods Market, Amazon Fresh, and Amazon Go.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable software systems that power advertising experiences across multiple grocery shopping channels

A day in the life
As a Software Development Engineer on our team, you'll spend your day collaborating with colleagues to solve complex problems in grocery advertising technology. You might start by reviewing code with teammates, then shift into designing systems that help customers discover new products while creating meaningful connections between advertisers and consumers. You'll work on sophisticated platforms that power advertising across multiple channels-from mobile apps to in-store experiences-and participate in discussions about how to scale these systems reliably. Your work will include writing and testing code, participating in design reviews, and contributing to our operational excellence standards. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
