Custom Business Solutions, a Michigan-based talent agency, is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with focus on AI, SAP Commerce & Durable Orchestration for a software engineering opportunity. Qualified candidates submitting an application will be considered for this contract opportunity.

The Senior Software Engineer will modernize a large SAP Commerce Cloud platform using Java, Spring, React.js, AI-assisted engineering, and durable workflow orchestration. This hands-on role will design and build reliable distributed commerce processes that remain resilient across deployments, retries, service failures, and long-running operations.

REQUIRED SKILLS
Senior-level software engineering experience with distributed production systems
SAP Commerce Cloud / Hybris development experience
Advanced Java and Spring development skills
React.js and modern JavaScript or TypeScript
OCC and REST API integrations
Durable orchestration experience with Temporal, Cadence, Azure Durable Functions, AWS Step Functions, Conductor, or similar
Workflow determinism, replay, retries, idempotency, and failure recovery
Compensation / saga patterns, durable timers, asynchronous events, and workflow versioning
Kafka or comparable event-driven messaging technology
Automated testing, debugging, performance analysis, and production support
AI coding assistants or agentic engineering tools used for substantive software development
Context engineering, including AI instructions, tools, domain context, and validation guardrails
