Job description

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with Software Defined Radio (SDR) experience. As an SDR engineer, you will contribute to ateamdeveloping products that implement innovative digital signal processing techniques using software-defined radio platforms. The successful candidate will have the following required skills:

  • Experience with tools such as GNU Radio, USRP hardware, and SDR frameworks
  • Software engineering competency including strong programming experience with Python and/or C/C++ and parallel computing techniques
  • Experience with embedded and real-time operating systems for SDR development environments
  • RF Engineering and wireless communication education and/or experience includes modulation/demodulation techniques, spectrum and interference analysis, RF circuitfundamentalsand electromagnetic theory
  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP) processing experience includes sampling theory, digital filtering, and FEC techniques.
Qualifications

Minimum Education:Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Years of experience:0-5 years ofdirectly relatedexperience.

Work Authorization: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.

Role/Work Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site position in Greenbelt, MD.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with DSP toolchains such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python and NumPy
  • Experience with RF testing and troubleshooting tools such as spectrum analyzers, arbitrary waveform generators, vector network analyzers, and analog channel emulators
  • Experience with satellite waveforms includes DVB-S2 and CCSDS
  • Experience with protocol analysis tools includes Wireshark
  • FPGA development experience is a plus
  • Proficiencyin verbal and written communication including articulating and presenting technical topics in a clear and concise manner to peers as well as executive level customer audiences
