Job description

SUMMARY:

The Senior Data Analyst extracts and analyzes data, designs reports, and presents findings to management and boards to enhance productivity, efficiency, quality, and clinical outcomes. This role supports organizational goals by generating data insights, improving business processes, and maintaining data for quality improvement initiatives and patient management programs. The Senior DA works independently on complex projects and collaborates with leaders, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and expertise in turning data into actionable information.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aligns work with the organization's vision, mission, and values while delivering professional, courteous service.
  • Prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines and complete responsibilities efficiently.
  • Gathers reporting requirements, translates them into specifications, and designs tools like reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate data effectively.
  • Analyzes systems, workflows, and data repositories to improve collection, accuracy, and integration while maintaining data integrity.
  • Conducts data audits, identifies discrepancies, and recommends system improvements to enhance reporting value and efficiency.
  • Develops standardized tools, including surveys, matrices, and dashboards, to streamline data access and reporting.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to define data needs, build custom and recurring reports, and present findings in a user-friendly way to support decision-making.
  • Educates users on data systems to enhance understanding, quality standards, and productivity.
  • Ensures compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations while maintaining configuration management for reports.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications.
  • Travels between Gracelight sites and/or external partnership sites as needed.
  • Complies with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Must be willing and able to work at all locations as needed to meet patient care needs.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or credential in health information technology, preferred and/or four years of experience using enterprise class data reporting, informatics, and decision support tools for management and operational reporting, required.
  • Five plus years of experience with databases, reporting software, data extraction and data presentation tools required.
  • Ten plus years of experience with Microsoft Office suite required and EPIC EMR system preferred.
  • Microsoft certifications: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, Oracle Certified Professional - SQL, Azure Data Fundamentals, Certified Analyst Python preferred.
  • Epic Certifications: Clarity Data Model are preferred.
  • Knowledge of FQHC operations and compliance requirements is highly desirable.
  • Five plus years of experience in the health care field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of data security and privacy laws preferred (e.g. HIPAA).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • A genuine passion and deep appreciation for the mission of the Organization.
  • Flexibility to work both remotely and onsite as needed, including the ability to attend impromptu meetings or handle urgent issues in person at any of Gracelight Community Health's locations.
