Job description

Description:
Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a Configuration Manager to implement and maintain configuration management (CM) and version control processes for hardware and software systems throughout the full system lifecycle. This role ensures configuration integrity, traceability, and control by managing baselines, enforcing standardized CM processes, utilizing configuration tools, and supporting audits and change control activities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and enforce hardware and software configuration management and version control policies, processes, and procedures
  • Establish, maintain, and control configuration baselines, ensuring accurate versioning and traceability of all configuration items (CIs)
  • Manage end-to-end configuration control, including change tracking, impact analysis, approvals, and audit readiness
  • Utilize CM tools (e.g., DOORS, Eclipse) to store, track, and manage configuration artifacts
  • Support build, integration, test, and release environments while maintaining configuration integrity across all phases
  • Develop and document CM processes, including automated build and release procedures aligned with applicable standards
  • Conduct configuration audits, support Change Control Board (CCB) activities, and ensure end-to-end configuration traceability

Qualifications:
  • Six (6) years of experience in configuration management and version control on programs of similar scope, complexity, and technical requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related discipline from an accredited institution, or four (4) additional years of relevant CM experience in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and managing hardware and software configuration baselines and version control systems
  • For developmental programs, a minimum of one (1) year of experience using source code control systems such as Git, SVN, or equivalent tools

Requirements:
