Job description

Position Summary:
The Software Deployment Manager / Production Functional Analyst is responsible for coordinating controlled application and infrastructure deployments while performing functional analysis of live production systems. This role ensures production stability, compliance with SDLC and change management processes, and alignment of system functionality with operational business requirements within a regulated federal environment. Primary Responsibilities:
Release & Deployment Management:
• Manage and maintain release calendar
• Coordinate Release Readiness Reviews (TRR/PRR)
• Validate deployment packages and rollback plans
• Enforce DEV / TEST / PROD environment separation
• Maintain concise documentation
• Oversee production deployment execution
• Conduct post-deployment validation and reporting
Production Functional Analysis:
• Perform functional (log) analysis of live production systems
• Conduct impact assessments for proposed changes
• Analyze production defects and determine functional root cause
• Translate operational issues into technical requirements
• Validate business logic, workflow integrity, and data impacts Change & Compliance Oversight:
• Ensure approved change tickets prior to deployment
• Support Change Control Board (CCB) processes
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and traceability
• Ensure adherence to configuration management standards
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 5 years of enterprise IT experience
• ITIL v4 Foundation
• Security+
• Minimum 3 years of release management, deployment coordination, or change management experience
• Experience performing business/functional analysis. • Experience supporting live production systems in mission-critical environments
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (required)
Technical Competencies:
• Strong understanding of SDLC and DevSecOps principles
• Experience coordinating production deployments
• Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux environments. Log analysis.
• Familiarity with database platforms (e.g., SQL Server, DB2, or equivalent)
• Ability to perform structured root cause and impact analysis
Preferred Certifications:
• Business Analysis certification (CBAP/CCBA preferred)
• PMP, CAPM, or equivalent
