Job description

The Dental Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting a small dental team specializing in general dentistry. This position involves assisting with patient preparation, managing dental instruments, and ensuring a sterile environment. The assistant will also perform radiographic imaging and utilize practice management and appointment scheduling software to maintain accurate patient records and streamline office processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for dental procedures and provide chairside assistance
  • Handle and sterilize dental instruments following infection control protocols
  • Manage patient records using practice management and appointment scheduling software
  • Assist with radiographic imaging and take dental impressions
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
  • Support the dental team in general dentistry procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of dental assisting experience
  • Certificate in Dental Assisting
  • CPR Certification
  • Radiography Certification, including Dental Radiography
  • Knowledge of infection control and sterilization techniques
  • Strong patient communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team environment
