Job Summary:

The Department of Athletics is seeking an Associate Head Coach - Women's Softball. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The mission of theOSUDepartment of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.).   • 1. Scouts future opponents, retrieves film and develops scouting reports for the Head Coach of a Revenue Olympic sport.
  • 2. Provides consultation and expert advice to head coach and team members.
  • 3. Prepares, plans, conducts, and evaluates practice sessions and teaches individuals and groups of players specific tasks and skills during season and off-season.
  • 4. Coordinates, oversees and participates in the recruitment of student-athletes including negotiation of scholarship offers, distribution and communication of recruiting information, off campus visits to assess talent and meet with prospective student-athletes and their parents.
  • 5. Ensures compliance with University policy, state and federal regulations and NCAA, PAC12 rules and regulations.
  • 6. Plans long and short-term team objectives under the leadership of the head coach.
  • 7. Establishes and reinforces requirements for team members in terms of academic and athletic progress.
Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in field of choice

  • 15 years of collegiate assistant softball coach experience at the NCAA Division 1 Level with one of those years as an Associate Head Coach

  • 1 year of national team playing experience in either Men's or Women's fastpitch

  • Experience softball coaching infield/hitting positions

  • Experience and understanding of NCAA Rules and Regulations

  • This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

  • This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy05-030.
