Duties and Responsibilities:
Execute Intervention Plans: Deliver hands-on therapy treatments created by the supervising OT to improve motor skills, cognition, coordination, and strength.
ADL & IADL Retraining: Guide patients through self-care routines like dressing, bathing, eating, grooming, and household tasks using adaptive techniques.
Train on Adaptive Equipment: Teach patients how to safely use assistive devices such as button hooks, sock aids, reachers, splints, and wheelchairs.
Implement Therapeutic Activities: Lead customized exercises, sensory integration activities, fine motor tasks, or cognitive rehab exercises to support rehabilitation goals.
Document Patient Progress: Record daily treatment notes, track response to therapy, and report functional improvements or setbacks to the supervising OT.
Adapt Environments & Tasks: Suggest modifications to home, school, or work environments to improve safety, accessibility, and patient independence.
Educate Families & Caregivers: Demonstrate proper transfer techniques, home exercise programs, and safe care strategies to family members and nursing staff.
