WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As a Senior Sock Designer in Accessories, you will create industry-leading innovative designs from concept to reality. You will have a strong aesthetic sensibility that is equally driven by both the creative and technical aspects of the design process. The candidate needs to love product and a passion for style and function. We are looking for a candidate who's curious, inquisitive, and motivated to discover new methods of make. You'll need to have strong communication skills with teammates across the organization. If you are a collaborative design creative, with an entrepreneurial spirit and will continuously innovate to achieve great results, then we'd love to talk to you!
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
In Accessories, you will work on designs that push the possibilities of sports and culture through socks. We expect you to explore new opportunities, and take risks. In your day to day, you will collaborate with teammates on researching, gaining insights, problem solving around performance and manufacturing, and create a vast range of creative solutions. With each project, you are expected to participate and present the work in informal and formal reviews. In addition to individual project work, the Senior Designer will work closely in the design direction with the Sr. Manager of Socks and the Design Director of Accessories.
As a Senior Designer for Socks within Accessories Design, you will focus on creating performance-driven, functional socks that meet the needs of athletes across sports and lifestyles. This role requires strong knowledge of knitting techniques, yarns, and material performance, with an ability to translate athlete insights into innovative products. You will take a hands-on, detail-oriented approach, pushing for design excellence and ensuring socks deliver on fit, comfort, durability and functionality.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
As a Senior Designer, you will be working closely with a large team of experts in design, development, and merchandising to ensure feasibility of designs, meeting price point, merchandising needs, and product creation timelines. Collaboration with the cross-functional accessories design team is key in creating cohesive narratives and product that represent the Nike brand. You'll work with Accessories Design Directors to actively gain experience, enhance design skills and increase knowledge of Nike's design philosophy, products and processes.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • MA, BA, BFA, BS or equivalent in Product Design, Industrial Design, Textile Design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training
  • 4+ years' design experience
  • A passion for style and function, and is aware and ahead of marketplace trends in sport and culture
  • Presents and communicates work clearly and confidently in meetings and reviews
  • Must be advanced in Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, and Keynote
  • Manage multiple projects at various stages of the design from concept to production
  • Ability to apply and perform design skills such as: drawing/sketching, ideation, use of texture, spacing and scale, visual presentation development and layout
  • Critique, iterate and adjust design concepts and prototypes independently and collaboratively. Evaluate designs from a performance, manufacturing and functional perspective, extend expertise to problem solve
  • Open minded, good listener, receptive to candid feedback and diverse points of view
  • Proven experience designing socks or knit-based products with a focus on performance.
  • Deep knowledge of knitting techniques, structures, and yarns (performance fibers, blends, cushioning).
  • Ability to translate athlete needs and insights into functional design solutions.
  • Strong focus on fit, support, breathability, and durability in product design.
  • Highly detail-oriented and thorough, with a persistent drive to refine and perfect designs.
  • Awareness of manufacturing processes and ability to collaborate closely with developers and suppliers.
  • Skilled in sketching, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D/digital visualization tools.
  • Portfolio showing performance product design, with emphasis on knitting innovation and functional solutions.
  • Strong collaboration skills, while also confident in pushing for the highest standards.
  • Positive but persistent personality - not afraid to challenge and push for better product outcomes.
