Familiarity with documentation systems, client management software, and, in some settings, basic data collection tools is valuable. Social Worker Practicum Students typically receive regular supervision from a licensed social worker who serves as their field instructor. Job description

Position: Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Work Practicum Student Intern
Reports To: Clinical Director
Objective:
Our mission is to provide exceptional, Christ-centered mental health care that integrates biblical principles with professional, evidence-based clinical techniques to promote overall mind, body and spirit healing, restoration, and spiritual growth in individuals, couples, families and groups.
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and spiritually vibrant Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Practicum Student to join our team. The successful candidate will provide professional clinical mental health services from a biblically informed perspective, addressing the emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of clients. This role involves using evidence-based therapeutic techniques while also being open to incorporating prayer, scripture, and spiritual guidance into sessions, as appropriate and requested by the client.
Responsibilities:
  • Clinical evaluation & Counseling: Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial and diagnostic assessments to determine client needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Therapeutic Intervention: Provide individual, couples, family, and group counseling sessions for clients dealing with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship conflicts, addiction, grief, and other mental health challenges.
  • Faith Integration: Integrate Christian faith and biblical principles with secular, evidence-based counseling methods (e.g., mindfulness, Internal family systems, CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, etc.) in a manner that is sensitive to the client's spiritual journey and preferences.
  • Case Management & Collaboration: Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, community resources, and church leadership (while maintaining confidentiality and ethical guidelines) to ensure holistic support for clients.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records and progress notes in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis assessment and intervention as needed, referring clients to external resources, such as inpatient programs, when necessary.
  • Professional Development: Participate in regular clinical supervision, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development and training sessions to enhance therapeutic skills and stay current with best practices in both clinical and Christian counseling.
  • Client Advocacy: Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the community and other systems.

Qualifications:
  • Education: A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field from an accredited university program.
  • Faith Alignment: A deep and committed personal Christian faith, with an ability to operate from a biblical worldview and integrate spiritual principles into clinical practice in a professional and ethical manner.

Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build a strong, professional, and trusting rapport with diverse clients.
  • Compassion, empathy, and emotional intelligence.

Details:
  • Varied workdays and hours based on internship requirements.
