Job description

Description:

Location:  Omaha, Nebraska

Department:  Media

Reports to:  VP, Integrated Marketing

Date:   August 2026

Who We Are:

At OBI, we are modern marketers. Our passion for using customer insights to drive innovation and deliver dreams is at the heart of everything we do. We believe our work goes beyond marketing because our employees and our clients deserve it. When we do what we do, dreams are realized.

If you're ready to bring your strategic expertise into an environment where Curiosity, Collaboration, Tenacity, Responsibility, and Innovation define the culture, this role is for you.

The Opportunity:

OBI Creative is seeking a Manager, Media Strategy & Planning to lead OBIโ€™s media practice through strategic planning, performance oversight, and team leadership. Reporting to the VP, Integrated Marketing, you'll guide integrated paid media strategy, oversee the health of client accounts, develop a talented team of media buyers, and serve as OBI's primary strategic contact for key media platforms and vendors.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Media Strategy & Planning: Lead integrated paid media strategy by aligning audience insights, business objectives, and budget investments across digital and traditional channels. Guide annual planning, campaign recommendations, and channel allocation to deliver measurable business results.
  • Media Performance & Account Oversight: Provide strategic oversight across all media accounts by monitoring campaign performance, reviewing dashboards, and guiding optimization decisions.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, and develop a talented team of media buyers by providing strategic guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Platform Partnerships & Innovation: Serve as OBI's primary strategic contact for key media partners. Build strong relationships, evaluate emerging capabilities, and introduce new opportunities and best practices that strengthen OBIโ€™s media practice.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with creative, engagement strategy, digital, and client services teams to ensure paid media strategies align with broader campaign goals and business objectives.

 What We Offer:

  • A leadership role with meaningful influence on client performance and agency growth.
  • A collaborative, inclusive workplace where your expertise and ideas are valued.
  • Opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and continuous learning.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Flexibility and a supportive culture that values balance and well-being.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a company that uses insights and innovation to deliver marketing that drives real business impact.
  • Lead media strategy that connects marketing investment to measurable results.
  • Work in a culture that values curiosity, collaboration, responsibility, and tenacity.
  • Help deliver dreamsโ€”for our clients, our teams, and yourself.

At OBI Creative, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Requirements:

 What Weโ€™re Looking For:

  • Strategic Media Expertise:  7+ years of hands-on media experience across planning, strategy or buying, with direct responsibility for developing media plans, making channel and budget recommendations and evaluating campaign performance.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Experience leading, coaching and developing media professionals while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth. Passion for building stronger strategists, not just stronger campaigns.
  • Performance & Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret campaign performance, identify optimization opportunities, and guide data-driven decisions across multiple client accounts.
  • Integrated Paid Media Expertise: Deep understanding of today's paid media ecosystem, including paid search, paid social, programmatic, streaming, and traditional media. Comfortable leading integrated planning conversations across channels.
  • Programmatic & DSP Experience:  Hands-on experience working within DSP platforms and programmatic campaigns, with the ability to guide strategy, optimization and best practices while coaching team members.
  • Client Leadership & Communication: Ability to present media strategy and performance insights clearly to clients and internal stakeholders, building trust and serving as a confident advisor.
  • Industry Curiosity: A passion for staying ahead of media trends, emerging technologies, and evolving consumer behaviors while continuously advancing media capabilities.

About You

  • You're a strategic thinker who enjoys solving marketing challenges through thoughtful media planningโ€”not just executing campaigns.
  • You naturally connect audience insights, business objectives, and performance data to build recommendations that drive measurable results.
  • You enjoy coaching others, sharing your expertise, and helping teams grow into stronger strategists.
  • You're equally comfortable presenting to clients, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and building trusted relationships with media partners.
  • You're curious, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning, always looking for better ways to strengthen media strategy and client results.
