Job description

Job Title: Family Services Supervisor


FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt

Reports to: Social Services Director

Schedule: 40W M-F 8:00AM – 4:30PM

Supervises: Hope Market Volunteers, Front Desk Volunteers

Rate of Pay: $22.00-$23.30

Closing Date: 07/20/2026

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:
• Health, vision, dental, life as well as voluntary life and disability insurance
• Sick leave benefit – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire)
• Vacation benefit – 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment)
• One floating day off for use (accrued immediately, and again annually, but may not be used until the completion of the initial three-month introductory period of employment)
• Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service)
• Voluntary Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan (403(b)plan)

Position Summary

The Family Services Program Manager provides leadership, coordination, and oversight of Family Services programs to support individuals and families experiencing crisis and transition toward stability. This role ensures services are delivered using trauma-informed, strengths-based, and client-centered practices while meeting funding, compliance, and reporting requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Manage day-to-day operations of Family Services programs, including utility assistance, hope market operations, seasonal assistance, and emergency support.

· Ensure services are delivered efficiently, ethically, and in alignment with agency policy, funding requirements, and community standards.

· Coordinate schedules, workflows, and coverage for Family Services staff and volunteers.

· Monitor program performance and service utilization to ensure effective use of resources.

Case Management & Client Services

· Assist with client intake, needs assessments, referrals, and follow-up using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.

· Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed.

· Ensure confidentiality and professional boundaries are always maintained.

Grants, Funding & Compliance

· Collaborate with the Grant Administrator and leadership to apply for, manage, and report on program funding (including COPE, EOC, and other grants).

· Maintain accurate documentation and reports for audits, funders, and regulatory agencies.

· Track service data and outcomes to support funding sustainability and program improvement.

Community Partnerships & Collaboration

· Build and maintain strong partnerships with community agencies, utilities, schools, donors, corporations, and volunteer organizations.

· Represent the organization at community meetings, coalitions, and forums as requested.

· Coordinate cross-department collaboration for programs such as Back-to-School, and Angel Tree

Technology, Data & Reporting

· Ensure accurate and timely data entry in required systems, including WellSky, TSAMM, NSS, STATS, and Gift-in-Kind tracking.

· Utilize data to monitor trends, identify gaps, and recommend service improvements.

· Adapt to new software and data systems as agency technology evolves.

Supervision & Volunteer Coordination

· Support, train, and mentor Family Services staff, front desk staff and volunteers.

· Promote a positive team culture aligned with organizational values and professional standards.

· Ensure volunteers receive appropriate onboarding, guidance, and oversight.

Education/Experience

· High School Diploma or equivalent required.

· Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human services, Social Work, or a related field preferred.

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in social services, case management, or community-based human services.

Skills

· Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.

· Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

· Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality.

· Proficiency in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and non-violent communication.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

· Cultural humility and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Access preferred.

· Working knowledge of case management and data tracking systems (e.g., WellSky, TSAMM) or ability to learn quickly.

· Comfort with virtual communication tools and digital recordkeeping.

Requirements

This position requires driving:

The employee must be 21 years old at minimum (for insurance provision) and possess a valid in-state driver’s license

An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies

Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies

Physical

Ability to maneuver, to remain in a stationary position, to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead, to lift 25 pounds, to access and produce information from the computer, to operate telephone, to understand written information
