Job description

Job Summary:  Performs independent living skills training for adult consumers with developmental disabilities.
 
Specific Duties Include:
·       Provide in-home/community-based services and training for the consumer by following an Individual Service Plan.
·       Locate and instruct on community resources.
·       Complete all hours assigned.
·       Maintain accurate records and submit all reports as needed.
 
Work Hours:
The Service Instructor position is extremely flexible and perfect for some-one in college or some-one that needs additional income to supplement a current job.  A Service Instructor can create their own work schedule as hours are correlated between the consumer and Service Instructor’s availability.

Rodgers Consulting Services is a state licensed organization with the Department of Developmental Services and Association of Regional Centers that offers the necessary support system with which all people with a developmental disability have a rightful chance to excel at a more comfortable lifestyle with greater independence and strengthened abilities.  
 
Requirements:
·       High School Diploma 
·       Passion to make a positive impact in someone’s life.
·       English speaking. Applicants with bilingual speech (Spanish, Vietnamese, Chinese, etc.) are a plus.
·       Service Instructors must show use of creativity in following the Service Plan provided by the Executive Director/Service Manager.
·       Service consumers in the San Francisco, Redwood City, San Mateo, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Los Altos, Santa Clara, San Jose, Sunnyvale and the surrounding Santa Clara County communities.
·       Reliable transportation, current auto insurance and cell phone.
·       Background Check performed
 
Working Locations:
Working in consumer’s homes, consumer’s occupational location, social settings, grocery stores, mall, banks, etc.
