Labcorp is seeking a Research Associate II - R&D to join our team in St. Paul, MN!
Work Schedule: Monday Through Friday 7:30am-4:00pm with some flexibility following training period.
Job Responsibilities:
This bench-focused position is in the Research and Development group under the direction of a senior lab member and will support all R&D functions pertaining to the validation of LC-MS/MS assays for clinical and forensic toxicology applications from assay development and report generation to implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical support on design, development and validation of LC-MS/MS based assays for quantitative analysis of small molecules in biological matrices
  • Analyze, summarize and present results in validation reports for supervisory and QC review
  • Transfer validated assays to laboratory personnel (technologists, supervisors, QC) and provide troubleshooting support, which may include additional experimentation and/or data re-analysis
  • Keep abreast of current literature pertinent to the project or departmental areas of interest
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or microbiology with 5 or more years of experience in wet chemistry or Masters of Science degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or microbiology with 2 or more years of experience in wet chemistry.
  • 1 or more years of experience with HPLC and mass spectrometry instrumentation

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 or more years of experience with Waters Acquity UPLC and Sciex MS instrumentation and software
  • 1 or more years of experience with Hamilton Liquid handling automation

Additional Job Standards:
  • Strong hands-on skills in quantitative extraction and analysis techniques
  • Strong documentation, organization and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work under minimal to moderate supervision in a dynamic, collaborative environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

Pay range: $75k-$85k annually (USD)
All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
