Job Description

The Consumer Lending Risk Analyst provides expertise and actionable guidance to management through the analysis of consumer and market data, as well as the impacts of industry, financial services, and regulatory trends. Provides information and detailed analysis to guide business decisions. Serves as a strategic thought leader around data insights including client surveys. Develops strong working relationships with internal departments and line of business partners to understand business issues, key performance indicators, strategies and plans. This role will handle a high volume of work exhibiting attention to detail.

How Youโ€™ll Spend Your Time
  • You will extract and decipher complex data, perform a broad range of analyses and employ analytical tools to illustrate emerging trends. This position provides actionable guidance by determining the meaning of complex data and formulating clear, concise, and compelling written/verbal conclusions or recommendations based on analyses.
  • You will exercise sound judgment in researching problems, evaluating various solutions, and using data to inform decision making that impacts the Divisionโ€™s bottom line. You will also partner with various line of business leaders and managers to identify, address, and satisfy data needs for various LOB projects; develop ad hoc reports and analyze as requested by management; provide day-to-day support for specialized data requests.
  • You will ensure data quality and validation controls are in place to support accurate data representation; effectively communicate and document segment models and their business implications. This position will formulate recommendations regarding segmentation, acquisition, retention, cross-selling and integrated communications.
  • You will build tools and pipelines for gathering data from multiple sources into a coherent view, ensure high quality work products and on-time delivery of all initiatives. Proactively assists project teams in establishing requirements and resource needs, removing roadblocks. Assist in building effective launch plans, participates in launch to ensure success, and provides critical feedback regarding defects and opportunities.
  • You will research relevant industry, financial services, and line of business issues to build upon knowledge base, identifying trends and sharing insights with team; anticipate and identify issues inhibiting the attainment of assigned goals; develop and implement problem resolution.
Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired by completion of a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics and 2+ years of relevant professional business experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to develop optimized SQL queries joining multiple databases to deliver customized inquiries
  • Familiarity with PowerBI and the ability to partner with internal stakeholders to drive new and innovative PowerBI tools
  • Strong conceptual thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex problems that include interrelationships and dependencies in order to identify common themes and solutions
  • Advance understanding of the data models in the domains - Customer, Products (Deposits, Loans, Cards, Payments) & related services).
  • Strong aptitude to collect and analyze information and make appropriate recommendations including source to target, target to source - data mapping, business rules, data validation.
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, and task focused
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to effectively handle projects in a fast-paced, high-volume, and deadline intensive environment
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills to effectively represent self and the Division, as well as the ability to present complex information and issues in a clear concise manner
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with descriptive and exploratory data analysis.
