FLSA Status: Exempt

About Fit Fusion

Fit Fusion operates a rapidly growing network of fitness and wellness brands, including Crunch Fitness locations across multiple states. We are scaling quickly and building strong systems, leadership alignment, and operational excellence across our organization.

Position Overview

The Social Media Assistant owns and manages the company’s social media function across all Fit Fusion locations. This role is responsible for strategic planning, execution oversight, and performance optimization of social media initiatives that support brand growth, lead generation, membership conversion, and overall revenue objectives.
While collaborating with the Social Media & Content Coordinator and marketing leadership, this position operates with substantial autonomy and exercises independent judgment in determining content strategy, messaging direction, campaign emphasis, posting cadence, and platform development. The Social Media Assistant is accountable not only for content execution, but for measurable outcomes, engagement growth, and brand impact.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Ownership

  • Develop and implement monthly and quarterly social media strategies aligned with company initiatives and revenue goals.
  • Determine overall content mix (promotional, community-focused, brand storytelling, and conversion-driven content) across platforms.
  • Establish posting cadence, campaign emphasis, and channel prioritization.
  • Independently launch new content series, campaigns, or platform initiatives.
  • Identify growth opportunities on emerging platforms and recommend strategic pivots based on engagement and trend analysis.
  • Align social strategy with new club openings, acquisitions, promotions, and major initiatives.

Performance & Revenue Accountability

  • Monitor engagement metrics, lead generation data, and membership conversion performance tied to social initiatives.
  • Analyze post and campaign performance, diagnose underperformance, and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Evaluate return on investment (ROI) for social initiatives and recommend continuation, modification, or discontinuation.
  • Prepare and present social performance reports and strategic recommendations to marketing leadership.
  • Connect content strategy to measurable business objectives and revenue impact.

Content Execution & Brand Governance

  • Capture photos and videos in gym locations to support strategic content initiatives.
  • Prepare and publish content across approved platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels.
  • Interpret and apply brand standards independently to ensure consistency across all markets.
  • Determine appropriate positioning of announcements, promotions, and events in alignment with overall brand strategy.
  • Respond to public-facing engagement, including sensitive or negative comments, exercising discretion and protecting brand reputation.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Manage allocated paid social media budgets within defined parameters.
  • Select and utilize tools, software, and vendors to optimize social performance.
  • Oversee influencer partnerships and collaborations within approved guidelines.
  • Coordinate contractors, photographers, influencers, and external partners to execute strategy effectively.

Cross-Functional Advisory & Multi-Location Coordination

  • Serve as an internal subject matter resource to club leadership regarding social positioning, messaging, and event promotion.
  • Determine which club initiatives receive social support and prioritize based on strategic impact.
  • Balance competing priorities across multiple locations and marketing initiatives.
  • Provide guidance or training to team members and stakeholders on social media best practices.
  • Participate in planning meetings and cross-functional discussions impacting brand growth and revenue.

Organization & Administrative Oversight

  • Maintain organized photo and video libraries.
  • Track campaign performance and maintain reporting documentation.
  • Ensure documentation, dashboards, and performance records are current and accessible.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing social media strategy.
  • Strong understanding of analytics, engagement metrics, performance optimization, and conversion tracking.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and prioritize without routine supervision.
  • Experience managing multiple initiatives across locations or stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with major social platforms and scheduling/analytics tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to connect creative initiatives to measurable business outcomes.

Physical & Work Environment Demands

  • Primarily office-based work with extended periods of computer use.
  • Flexible travel to gym locations for content capture is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds (camera equipment, materials).
  • Occasional evening or weekend work during events or major campaigns.

Additional Duties

This job description reflects the essential responsibilities of the role. Duties may evolve based on business needs. The Social Media Assistant is expected to operate with flexibility and contribute to strategic growth initiatives across the organization.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

  • Operates autonomously and makes sound business decisions aligned with brand standards.
  • Connects social strategy to measurable business outcomes.
  • Exercises discretion in prioritizing initiatives and responding to real-time engagement.
  • Maintains brand consistency while adapting to local and campaign-specific needs.
Takes ownership of results, not just content output.
