Job description

Job Description: The Social Media & Marketing Coordinator intern will manage community engagement across social platforms, maintain the marketing content calendar, and ensure Innovation DuPage stays actively connected with its member businesses and partners. This intern will report to the Marketing Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Community Engagement & Moderation:


Regularly audit the Innovation DuPage member list and ensure the organization is following members on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
Monitor member and partner content and engage — liking, commenting, and sharing — to maintain active community relationships
Flag content opportunities such as member wins, launches, and milestones for potential features or reposts


Marketing Calendar & Operations:


Update and maintain the marketing content calendar, keeping post schedules, deadlines, and campaign details current
Develop familiarity with Innovation DuPage's programs schedule to ensure timely promotion and recognition of program milestones, cohort dates, and key events
Assist with drafting social media captions, tracking engagement metrics, and organizing digital assets
Make quick edits to graphics and templates using Canva or Adobe tools as needed


Qualifications:


Required:


Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Comfortable navigating LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook in a professional context
Strong written communication skills

Preferred:


Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite for basic graphic edits
Familiarity with spreadsheets or project management and calendar tools
Ability to work independently with clear direction
Familiarity with DuPage County and the entrepreneurial community


Schedule & Commitment:


25 hours per week
Required: one in-office day per week at Innovation DuPage (Glen Ellyn, IL)
Additional in-office availability strongly encouraged
Hybrid — remote work available outside of required in-office days
