Position Description 


U.S. Soccer is seeking a Manager, Soccer Forward Content & Video to lead the storytelling and content development for Soccer Forward, the Federation's initiative to grow the game and expand access to soccer in communities across the country.


This role will own the development, production and execution of Soccer Forward content across platforms, with a strong emphasis on video-first storytelling and social distribution. Embedded within the Federation's video team, this position will operate as the primary content lead for Soccer Forward, translating initiatives into compelling narratives that connect with key audiences.


This role will also help guide the Soccer Forward content strategy, in close collaboration with the Content Strategy & Planning team and Soccer Forward stakeholders, ensuring all storytelling ladders up to Federation priorities, audience needs and measurable impact.


The role requires a creator mindset, with the ability to identify, capture and produce content independently while also partnering with internal teams on larger-scale production. The Manager will work cross-functionally across video, social media, editorial and strategy teams to ensure content is aligned, platform-native and impactful.


The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller and hands-on creator who is comfortable developing content plans, capturing content in the field and editing video for distribution across digital platforms.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Own the Soccer Forward content calendar and narrative, translating Federation initiatives into cohesive, platform-native storytelling
  • Lead the production and execution of video-first content, maintaining a consistent cadence of output that drives awareness, engagement and growth for Soccer Forward
  • Capture video content in the field, including shooting on professional cameras (e.g. Sony FX6) and mobile devices.
  • Edit video content across formats, from quick-turn mobile edits to more polished pieces, optimized for platform-specific distribution
  • Identify real-time storytelling opportunities and create timely, relevant content that reflects community impact and cultural moments
  • Partner with Federation video leads to plan and execute larger-scale productions, ensuring alignment with broader production standards
  • Collaborate with the Social Media team to ensure content is optimized for platform performance and distribution best practices
  • Partner with Content Strategy & Planning and Soccer Forward leadership to help shape and guide the Soccer Forward content strategy, ensuring alignment with Federation priorities, audience targets and platform best practices 
  • Oversee key Soccer Forward content platforms and series, ensuring consistency in voice, quality and output across all touchpoints
  • Track and analyze content performance, using insights to inform future content decisions and improve output
  • Support live event and on-site coverage, including travel to Soccer Forward activation and community initiatives

Requirements


Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in content creation, video production and social media
  • Strong experience shooting video with professional camera equipment (e.g. Sony FX6) and mobile devices
  • Proficiency in video editing tools (e.g. Adobe Premiere)
  • Experience in developing and publishing content across social platforms
  • Strong storytelling instincts with the ability to translate initiatives into engaging content
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities
  • Must be able to connect "micro" details to the "macro" vision and mission 
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) 
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel as needed


Desired Qualifications

  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus
  • Experience creating content in live environments such as sports, events or community activations
  • Understanding of U.S. Soccer and the role of Soccer Forward within the Federation
  • Experience collaborating across video, social and editorial teams
