Job Coaches provide ongoing support to individuals working at various employment sites within the community. This support

is individualized and centered around work-related goals that focus on helping the consumer obtain the maximum level of

independence within their job. The Job Coach must be a skilled communicator, empathetic listener, and excellent problem solver,

with the ability to help clients achieve their desired goals. They carry out responsibilities in the following functional

areas: client rights, job coaching and regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a positive role model and coach, helping clients build problem-solving, decision-making, conflict-resolution, and independent living skills.
  • Learn each client’s needs and support them in meeting goals in their employment setting. Provide training, demonstrations, and guidance individually and in group sessions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule according to the needs of the clients and employers.
  • Teach and encourage clients to pursue their hopes, goals, and objectives through self-direction and effective decision-making.
  • Monitor and document client behaviors in the workplace.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/equivalent and/or relevant work or life experience.
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, ability to meet agency driving standards, and proof of auto insurance.
  • Ability to pass required Wisconsin Caregiver Background Checks and any applicable out-of-state checks.
  • Reliable phone with voicemail and access to email.

Education/Qualifications

  •  Must possess a high school diploma/equivalent and/or related work/life experience.
  •  Must be at least 18 years of age.
  •  Must possess a valid WI driver’s license, and ability to meet agency driving standards. Must provide proof of auto
  • insurance.
  •  Must pass a periodic WI Caregiver Background Check including Department of Justice Criminal Record Checks,
  • and/or that of previous states of residence.
  •  Knowledge of and ability to intervene appropriately in crisis prevention and de-escalation when necessary.
  • Experience working with people who have physical and mental disabilities. Experience working with individuals with
  • severe and persistent mental illness is preferred.
  • Successful candidates will be extremely positive, energetic, and have a passion for helping individuals with
  • mental/physical disabilities to achieve amazing lives.
