Job description

AFO is looking for a Grounds Maintenance Tech to help with maintenance of the grounds around the MCB.
Responsibilities
  • Maintains grounds of industrial, commercial, government or public property; Repairs structures and equipment, performing one or more of the following tasks: cuts grass, using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2000-lbs).
  • Trims hedges and edges around walks, flower beds, using hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools.
  • Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears, chainsaw, and other hand tools.
  • Applies sprays/granule fertilizers or insecticide on lawns, shrubs, trees, flower beds. Plants grass, sod, flowers, trees, shrubs.
  • Waters lawns and shrubs during dry periods, using hose or activating sprinkler system. Picks up leaves, paper, debris, and other litter.
  • Removes snow from walks driveways, roads, or parking lots, parking garages, using shovels, snow blowers, ATVs, plow trucks.
  • May clean offices, workshops areas, and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping, and polishing.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all lawn equipment to include but not limited to mowers, trimmers, blowers, edges, snowblowers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Must have experience using commercial lawn care equipment.
  • Valid drivers' license.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
