Job description

TEMPORARY ACCOUNTS PAYABLE POSITION FOR THE NEXT 3-4 MONTHS!!!

Snelling Staffing is seeking a TEMPORARY Accounts Payable Clerk for the gift store in a hospital in the Baton Rouge area. Our client needs help to finish the year and is seeking someone with previous RETAIL accounts payable experience. Offering a flexible schedule working 30-40 hours per week at a rate of $18-$25 per hour depending on experience.
Position Duties:
  • Process and reconcile vendor invoices, purchase orders, receiving documentation, payment, and vendor credits
  • Research transactions and resolve account discrepancies
  • Prepare and post journal entries including corrections, reclassifications, and accruals
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations for variances and outstanding items
  • Reconcile POS sales, merchant/credit card activity, inventory transactions, and other retail financial activity
  • Support month-end and fiscal year-end close activities
  • Prepare financial reports
  • Support sales tax reporting
Job Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of previous accounts payable experience is REQUIRED
  • Previous accounting experience in the retail field is REQUIRED
  • Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and think quickly
  • Verbal and written communication skills
