CASINO REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain, and maintain, a Gardena Police Department/City issued Casino Work Permit.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs most repairs and maintenance assignments.
  • Performs semi-specialized assignments and general tasks in the maintenance of the entire Casino property.
  • Performs general plumbing duties, e.g. sink and drain clog clearing.
  • Performs general refrigeration, heating and AC maintenance, e.g.air handler filter replacement.
  • Assists in painting, carpentry and remodeling of the entire Casino property, e.g. tile floor cleaning, florescense light replacement, shuffle machine replacement.
  • Assists, when needed, in moving of Casino game tables, chairs, office furniture and supplies as needed.
  • Abides by and adheres to the Casino safety policy as well as the State Health Department regulations.
  • Assists the Facilities Manager and Supervisors as needed.
  • Performs all other work-related duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • 1-3 years of General Maintenance experience.

EDUCATION/FORMAL TRAINING

  • HS Diploma or GED required.

QUALIFICATION

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

  • Ability to operate the Scissor lift (and know how to charge it.)
  • Hand snake and general tools.
  • Basic knowledge of air handler filter replacement.
  • Basic sink and drain clog clearing.
  • Experience with tile floor cleaning.
  • General knowledge of Felt replacement.
  • Ability to examine issues both strategically and tactically.
  • Ability to carry out detailed tasks and projects with minimal direction or supervision.   
  • This position requires the ability to problem solve situations in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.

Qualified individuals [as defined by the ADA and CRD] must be able to perform all of the essential duties with or without a reasonable accommodation.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Maintenance Certification preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must have ability to safely lift minimum of 75 lbs. without restrictions.
  • Requires many hours of working in front of a computer and extended periods of telephone work. 
  • Able to reach overhead, bend, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, re-stocking inventory.
  • Able to regularly perform store maintenance items: sweep, vacuum, empty trash, clean.
  • Ability to use and climb ladders.
  • Work in an enclosed and busy area.
  • Requires ability to reach with hands and arms; occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude and ability to deal effectively with guests, management, employees and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines with attention to detail.

WORK ENVIORNMENT

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • Ability to tolerate indoor temperatures of approximately 60- 65 degrees for extended periods of time.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to concentrate in an intense, fast-paced environment with numerous distractions
  • 24 hour operation with a very fast paced environment.
